If we could easily and cheaply indefinitely extend human life, would we control the population through sterilization or genocide?

Through the unwillingness of people in rich countries to have children, actually.

So your solution to solving the population problem is to make everyone wealthy?

So, next time do a google search - the numbers of the 'population increase assuming no aging' scenario were already run - before you come here with alarmistic non-problems, and, after you are told how your alarmism is essentially a bad joke, not accepting it.

So I take it you lean more towards the sterilization scenario.

What are you talking about? Only the rich will be able to effort this.

Though poor people can trade in there lifetime for cheap labor, making the rich live even longer.

No wait, that was a movie! XD

In many western nations the population would be decreasing if not for immigration. Some places like Japan consider this to be a potential future problem.

In time the entire planet will be "the developed world."
