I see a lot in Beta Ursae and the one south of it, and a few in Eta Eridani, but I spend most of my time in those two sectors so it could be just that.

    Yeah that would be nice.

I'm hoping they let us use the foundry to let us customize the interiors of the our ships and the crew uniforms and to put our BO's throughout the ship so my doctor will be in sickbay and my engineer in engineering, which would free up space for new officers on the bridge.

I went to Ambassador Sugihara to get my enemy faction bridge officer, and claimed a Gorn engineer. I gave him the same name, career and features as my Gorn toon on the KDF side, and in my head he is the same creature. Could he be a Gorn separatist, who defected to the Federation???? If Cryptic ever decides to create a way to promote your BOffs to a new captain toon, I will so leap on the chance to promote this guy to a Starfleet captain so he can fight for Gorn independence! LOL

That's the plan. There's some tech in the Neverwinter Foundry that is a necessary first step to this. We're supposed to get it after it stabilizes.

Watch the recent videos about the Neverwinter Foundry and drool.

It would be a minor miracle if the STO team manages to pull this off. So while I'm looking forward to it, I'm not going to get my hope up.

i'd love to see ship 'extras' popping up... either in the C-Store, or as bits you can buy with EC...

Having more nacelles, saucer sections, hulls and such, would allow for a lot more customisation, and i think the extra variation on ships would be fun...

Could even have some 'battle damage' skins, where phaser marks and such were showing :D

Computer Core Fragments are used in a Daily mission, Salvage Dispute, at Donatu II in the Eta Eridani sector. It awards 1,440 Dilithium.

The others look Mystery Package boxes. If you open them, they will contain either a Lock Box or a Gold Lock Box. Those are opened with keys that cost 125 Zen ($1.25 US), or less if you buy them in bulk. You can sell them if you don't want to open them, but they don't go for much, unless they're Gold Lock Boxes, which have a much higher chance of containing the best loot (including unique ships). Most people sell Gold Lock Boxes or open them, and trash regular ones; some people sell the latter for pocket change.

So, in an effort to shake things up I grabbed the (long range science vessel retrofit) Intrepid science ship. Was getting tired of cruisers. I'm still getting used to fewer weapons but the extra abilities make up for it.

I'm not blowing up as often as I thought I would. This is my 1st full on T5 science ship. Grav well 3 is very fun, nothing escapes it! hahaha! The ablative armor is more of a trick then something useful.

Playing a support role is pretty fun and the style of battle takes getting used too, gotta keep moving! All in all, a tough little ship.

Changing up what kind of ship you fly can help break you out of a mindset. I have recently been leveling up at Klingon Tactical Officer flying Bird of Preys, the change between cruisers and that is a fantastic change of pace...though now I think I'm gonna struggle going back to anything that isn't as agile as a Bird of Prey :p

Yep; I recently switched my Engineer from cruisers to a Heavy Escort Carrier, and I'm having more fun.

Final numbers are in, I just secured the Mk XII MACO engine, the last set piece I wanted for completion.

I did 103 total STFs on this toon. So the average drop rate of a proto tech piece, of which there are 12, comes down to one in 8.5 STF runs.

It was even a bit better i think, because I misclicked once and got an Omega piece when i wanted a MACO.

You must have gotten extremely lucky. I've never experienced a rate anything near that. Even since the Season 6 'upgrade' to the drop rate.

I've run 254 STFs, and just finally got the last piece of the 2nd space set (so have MACO and Omega MK XII sets). Of the ground stuff, I've received a single piece, from KAGE. Granted, haven't run Infected a ton, as it's annoying. CGE I've run a million times, and never gotten ANY drop, blue or purple. Getting pretty annoyed at that one, i can run it in my sleep at this point, and there's just no reward coming for me.

So, of my 254 runs, I've gotten the 6 space ones, plus an extra shield and deflector. And just the KAGE ground piece. 3.5%, or one every 22 runs or so...

Blue ones are even hit or miss. Probably have 5 of the CSE blue engine, collected and stacked while waiting for the final purple to hit.

Yeah, I played a cruiser while going through the levels, and even bought the GAL-X at the end. It was the easiest way to survive while playing solo through the missions.

Once you get to the end, though, really need the DPS that the escort brings.

And once you fly the escort, and gear yourself up for it properly, you really can't go back. Tanking is useful in a team, but it's boring. You can't turn, you just broadside and see how much damage you can take before you pop.

The Escort lets you zip around, pour way more fire onto the enemy, and actually steer the ship a bit. And since most of the bad guys are all screwed up and 1-shot you if you get hit anyway, the extra hull rarely gives you much. I can survive against a couple enemies just fine, and have stuff to heal and get back in. If a cube pops me, nothing I can do anyway. And in the meanwhile, I'm doing a ton more damage, and it's more fun to fly.

OK, my new ship, I am playing eng character, i like this character and since I was away from this game for 10 months ,i totally forgot what I suppose to do. Dilithium I guess is most important thing, well it is a currency so you need it if you want to get new ships, question is where do I get some Dilithium, which missions are good for dilithium and any other advice for me, Also my character is rear admiral lower half, do i still have only 5 bridge officers, or am i missing something?

Also if you want to add me in game feel free to do so, my character is Michel @ mic of orion.

I tend to swing back and forth between my Sovereign, Tactical Odyssey, and Tactical Escort Refit. While the escort gives me lots more power to pewpewpew, I prefer to be the guy everyone goes after in his cruiser, letting the rest of my team get down to business. :D

The Sovereign is great for being middle of the road, too. Decent DPS, solid tanking. I'd love to get my hands on the new Sovvy, but that's money I can't spare. The Odyssey class, though, she's just one massive tank, and while slow and turns like a skyscraper, can take a lot of abuse before giving up the ghost. It also helps that the Tac Odyssey has the escort, which helps boost the DPS capability of the Ody. That's the one I'm flying right now.

Have they upped the dilithium you get from the asteroid mining? I never used to get more than 100 per dig, today I got 125. Only difference is I was on Advanced Difficulty - I typically drop to Normal for the dailies to speed things up, but figured since there's no combat what the heck... but if that IS causing it then they should make that better known. Fuck it, I'll be doing it on Elite from now on! I need four fleet modules ready for when the starbase is pumping out fleet recon science vessels!

Be nice if fleet gear gives an alternative route to some of the better options. A fleet version of the subtranswarp engines would be lovely.

Of course, they might save that for the personal renown system coming in Season 7.
