The topic is future. Not current U.S. politics.

Are you making a joke or have you never seen the movie Idiocracy? If not, I recommend. From Mike Judge, maker of Office Space

It's Sojouner, so, yea, I'm thinking it's the same joke I was going to make, and I haven't seen the movie (Though, I knew that's what you meant)

[IMG] You never know. That's why I'm stupid & use emotes. Besides, it seemed like a good opportunity to recommend the movie regardless

    All too true, unfortunately.

    LOL

IMO, possibly the film I, Robot and, for farther ahead, the Alien movies, especially Alien: Resurrection.

I always like the portrayal of the future in DREDD.

Three books by John Brunner stand out for me. "Stand on Zanzibar", "The Shockwave Rider" and "And the Sheep Look Up". They deal with aspects of the world we live in now, from overpopulation to information overload to safe food and water to computer hacking and antibiotic resistant diseases, all written in the '70s.

Sometimes it's really depressing to witness your fiction coming true.

Avatar if we ever learn how to traverse space quickly, minus the jungle fever.

Her has a lot of viable near-future elements in it.

Terminator 2 (1991) did a great job of portraying the year 1995.

Which one's the one where we all die as our molecules freeze to a dead stop, along with the rest of the universe, and we remain in that frigid state of death and undeath for the rest of eternity? Because that one.

Sadly, I think WALL-E is the most realistic. Earth is a huge garbage heap, and the human race is so fat they need to sit on chairs attached to conveyer belts to go anywhere.

My thoughts exactly. The world is a better place right now than at any other point in history and things are only going to continue getting better.

I wonder how many times a comment like that has been said in the past.
    Rome?
    Crete?
    The Mayans?
    Toltecs?
    Easter Island?
