Went to see The Fourth Kind Thursday night...it was alright, though they tried to hard to sell the idea of it bein' a "true" story.

No clue what my next movie will be, but I am hopin' to get into a big screen presentation of the Caprica pilot tonight.

I went to see The Imaginarium of Doctor Pernassus the other day. Decent film, but there was just something off about it that stopped it being a great film. But I would still recommend it to any Gilliam fans

I saw the CAPRICA pilot on the big screen tonight (and got autographs from Esai Morales & Jeffrey Reiner)!

Still countin' it, even though I already watched it on DVD when it came out.

Just went and saw Astro Boy -- and I was the only person in the theatre. Which I guess isn't totally unexpected, given it's unimpressive performance at the box office this past weekend.

I liked the film -- some of the humour was a bit inappropriately silly at times, I felt, but overall it's good fun, plus it's a great-looking movie. I'll give it a B.

Oh yeah, I also saw Zombieland last week. I thought it was a hoot, if not overly subversive. B+.

Pirates of the Caribbean ATW [Meh, just too over the top]

An American Werewolf in London -- 6/10 -- I didn't mind this film persay, but it's definitely not one of my favorites. I saw it with a friend recently. Didn't like most of the acting... it was rather over the top [IMG]. But the cinematography and effects were nice (that's why it's getting a score of 6/10 instead of a 4/10).

As for the music/soundtrack to the film, it was pretty good.

Overall, I consider it a horror/comedic farce kind of movie.

Sullivan's Travels - now I understand the O Brother Where Art Thou in-joke!
The Mission - great classic movie, see see see!
Drag Me To Hell - fun fluff, not too scary
Captain from Castile - corny fun to begin with but drags on waaay too long...

Bolt [I love this movie. I cried and laughed and cried. If Disney can keep this up, they'll get a good CG reputation like Pixar].

Personally I thought it was one of the scarier horror movies I've seen in a long time... Mostly because a lot of it was left to your imagination. That's not to say it was really scary, I just don't find horror movies scary most of the time.

I didn't really care too much for this movie either. It had rave reviews and a friend recommended it, and I just didn't get all the fuss.

Since my last update here, I've seen:

    Primer
    Milk
    Oldboy
    Moon
    Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

Primer I was watching for the second time (and I still don't get the ending). The others I was watching for the first time.

I'm easily scared and it didn't faze me too badly. Maybe I'm getting tougher. I should try to sit thru The Exorcist on my own - again - been trying that for years now. :rommie:
Hey, I've never seen that! Okay, that goes to the top of the Netflix list. Let's see how tough I am!

I was Exorcist when I was 13 (I think, I don't remember what year they unbanned it here) and I just laughed at it. Didn't scare me in the least.
I have trouble thinking of anything that really gave me a good fright, Ghostwatch did when I was 10, Silent Hill 2(the game) had me watching the shadows for a night but I can't really think of much else. Although there was a couple of points in Drag Me To Hell that had my heart going, hence why I thought it was scarier than most.
Probably just their use of sound in the darkened cinema, worked better than it would at home.

I used to love Poltergeist as a kid, but haven't seen it in years, bet it's rubbish.
