They may have a month here and there where they have slightly more than 52 ongoing titles in order to let some titles that have been cancelled finish out storylines, but things will then settle back down to 52 titles as a matter of course.

Read "Detective." Meh. I'm not completely lost on this title yet as it's lost others but, I dunno. It's not "moving" me much. Seems like an odd place for it to bee after the "Night of the Owls" issue from last month but I'm guessing the place where the Owls story line started (Batman) will deal more with that than the other bat-books. (Unless it was resolved in one of the Batbooks I don't follow like Nightwing or B&R.)

One could argue they do have more than 52 titles going on right now since there's the Smallville "Season 11" series which, I presume, isn't part of "The New 52." ;)

Digital comics aren't apart of the New 52 (nor is the paper version of Smallville Season 11). Someone should do a head count. Here's the wikipedia article for The New 52 which lists all the books.

Nor are limited issue series like the Shade, or Legion Secret Origins.

The "New52" pretty much refers to the 52 comics that make up the current DC Universe continuity. Stuff in different continuities like Smallville or Batman Beyond do not count.

And, as mentioned above, it only refers to ongoing titles. Limited series set in the current DCU don't count as part of the 52.

I liked Earth 2, #2 this week. The dueling Terrifics have great potential.
Dial H #2not so good this time around. Way to many characters introduced in a single issue and the whole thing felt kind of muddy.
Worlds Finest #2was ok. Like the flashback more than the main story. The bad guy is very lame.
    Animal Man #10 very good
Action #10, has my interest with 2 new villians and the friendship of Lois, Jimmy and Clark.
SwampThing 10, Arcane looks silly and the art didnt halep. Yet the words on the page made this a great issue.
Read others but these were the only ones worth talking about.

Can we talk about how amazing it is that they've brought back Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld? I just DC actually markets the title to the people who would buy it.

Amethyst is great. I hope the book does well. Amethyst shorts are going to be part of the DC Nation block:

I remember buying the original series back in 1983(?). I enjoyed it quite a bit. I understand that there was a second series with Mordru later on. Now that Mordru is in Demon Knights, I wonder if there will still be a connection. But where else has she appeared in the past twenty years?

Not one of the "New 52", yes, but I read "Smallville #2" last night and enjoyed it, it's really becoming a good continuation of the series.

    ^Smallville Season 11 has a great writer.

Mordru is a LEGION villain whose origin was retconned into Amethyst as a a Lord of Chaos and Amethyst as a Lord of Order (which makes a lot of sense) and then added into the present day DCU by JSA.

^ Agreed. Miller was one of their better writers when he was on the show, if not the best.

DC solitics for September's Zero month. Batman family previews. There is a link there for the Justice League preview as well.

These don't sound half bad actually. Especially the Batgirl one! Finally.

Bleeding Cool has a few cancellations. Resurrection Man, Captain Atom...

    ...no surprise there.

I thought Resurrection Man might hold on a little longer. In any given month it sells better than about half a dozen other New 52 titles.
