hi! im Rory, im a 22 year old politics student here in England! been a Star Trek fan since I was a child, love all the series and like most of the films too! I have loads of episodes of TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT on DVD and series 1-2 of the Original Series on Blu-Ray, plus all the films on Blu-Ray my other interests are; Politics, Video Games, Music, Sci-Fi, Anime, Comedy and Sports! Live Long and Prosper
Thanks for informing me about that thread, and also for your compliment! I'll check out the shouting thingie soon! I'm terribly shy myself...sometimes it's hard for me to deal with new people and new situations...but having low confidence doesn't mean you're rubbish. How did you get interested in DeForest Kelley/Dr. McCoy?
It was the new film's fault. When I first watched Star Trek in 1996, I didn't like TOS. I saw the new film last summer on DVD (2010) and thought I should actually watch TOS. So I bought the boxsets and by halfway through the first season that was it. McCoy just makes me laugh and he makes me giggle. Plus DeForest Kelley was amazing and he had the most gorgeous eyes.
Re: Hey Wow, someone volunteered their real name on the first day here. Welcome~~ I love New Zealand. One of the places on my "must-visit" list.
Ah, I see. I thought Kelley was handsome but it really was McCoy's humor that got me all starry-eyed. I'm so grateful that DeForest Kelley got that role...he and McCoy are a perfect match!
^ It's a cropped still from De's performance in the show The Silent Service. The whole still. He was a (very) shirtless submarine captain in that episode.
Ah, yes, I found a clip video on You Tube of his scenes from that a few months ago Thanks for the pic though.
Gunfight at the O.K. Corral was on the other day. I had no idea Dee was in the film. I'd thought I'd seen it before, but I would've remember that. Bones has been my favorite Trek character since I was five.
@ Kirsten: You're welcome. @ CorporalClegg: Hm, I still haven't seen Gunfight. Didn't De have a small role in that film? I had it on my Netflix list, but the DVD has become unavailable. BTW, for both you guys, I started a McCoy/Kelley tribute thread: http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=147915

Greetings, I finally did it and joined the board. Been lurking for years, before the ponies, the sombreros and a few other board pop culture fads. I know a lot of you by your posts and must say that even though I have joined and am officially a member, don't expect Christmas Presents. ^_^
Howdy. I'm an Israeli writer living in America who happens to love TNG and is getting into DS9. A couple of friends and I dressed up like a fleet of Rikers for Halloween this weekend, but most people simply didn't get the joke, no matter how many times we'd make the perverted Riker face... still had a blast though. I have way too much free time on my hands lately, so hopefully I can find a nice internetz home here. Engage!
