Bob had a guest part on The Big Bang Theory for the episode that aired tonight (May 2nd, "The Proton Resurgence"). It was quite a surprise for me... I figured he had retired. But wow... Bob still has it! His timing was excellent. His characterization was hilarious. He really made the episode. And it almost looked like the cast couldn't hide that they were quite reverent of him.
Wow, I'll have to look on On Demand. Bob Newhart has been my favorite comedian since The Bob Newhart Show was on the air. Button-Down Mind is a classic. I try to catch re-runs on MeTV whenever I can.
The only thing that would've topped it for me would've been if Suzanne Pleshette was still alive, and them waking up in bed together at the very end of the episode, and him telling her he'd had a dream about some strange, nerdy people.
It was a very touching episode on many levels. Enjoyed it tremendously. Vintage Newhart and top-shelf BBT.
Agreed. Newhart killed it on last night's BBT episode. Then again, when hasn't he? Actually had me laughing out loud in a couple of places.
