This was on last night? Ok. Wanted to check this out but guess that's going to be hard. My TiFaux is booked on Mondays.
Very much a "Bones" vibe with the roles reversed, he the writer and she the cop. I like "Bones" though so I'll give this one a shot.
That comparison was one of my two reasons to watch, the other being I like Nathan Fillon. Met him at DragonCon some 5yr ago and he was really cool despite the long line and I must have been the 255th person he had seen. I give it an AVERAGE. I'll check out a few more eps to be sure. I give all new shows I'm interested in that 6 episode barrier.
The wife and I watched it last night. Enjoyable, but if Nathan Fillion hadn't been in it I don't know that either of us would have tuned in. Looking forward to next week. I hope they keep the bit with other authors and the card game.
I was bored out of my mind watchin' the premiere last night. I'll give it a couple of episodes, see if it improves at all...if not, I'm out.
ABC is repeating the show Saturdays at 10pm/9 central in most markets if you have TiVo space available then.
I loved it. The chemistry was amazing and the humor was pretty funny. I tuned in only because if it has Nathan Fillion in some major role, it's bound to be decent. I'm hoping it doesn't get canceled, another season would be great.
I enjoyed it. It's Moonlighting. I agree that Nathan Fillion's presence is a big factor. He's such an easy actor to like. We'll give this a shot.
Anyone notice that fiction within fiction usually sucks bigtime? Like all the supposed blockbuster movies in America's Sweethearts? Or the titles of the novels in this show?
I enjoyed it, mostly for the characters, and to be honest, I probably wouldn't have even watched it. But like Bones I watched it because of someone from a previous Joss Whedon show, and enjoyed it. So I'll continue to watch.
I know EXACTLY what you mean. I just watched this episode on ABC.com for the first time, and only because of Fillion. He definitely carries this show, if he wasn't in it, it would not be interesting at all, there are too many other shows like it, so he makes the show. I know what you mean though, Fillion seemed to act more like he was under the direction of Joss than the characters on Dollhouse. It just has a Jossy kinda feelin to it, I guess cause of Fillion, he is Jossy lol
I just couldn't finish it. Not only formulaic, but just plain boring. The would-be "sparkling banter" is just laying there. It's a real poor man's Moonlighting wannabe. No chemistry. No energy. The story itself isn't too interesting. It too closely resembles the leads dynamic in The Mentalist. Nope. Doubt I'll get back to this one. --Ted
Tell me about it. I swear it is like Joss is writing Castle. Dollhouse just pales in comparison to this. Anyways hopefully this will generate more buzz and maybe we can see more ex Wheedon alum
