Every time I think of these books, I think of this scene from Young Frankenstein.

I believe the "3 to 5 weeks" status means that one of their warehouses says it should be arriving soon, but they don't have any on hand. Once the book actually arrives at the warehouse, the status should change to "24 hours".

^ I'll second that. It might be worthwhile at that point to lock this one, or to recommend that people who are merely announcing their purchase, order, delivery, or random sighting of the book use this thread for such declarations.

Maybe a moderator can change the title to "Pretty heavy speculation" for this one?

I thought the question was, "To be or not to be?"

Are you sure it isn't "How many roads must a man walk down?" Or "What do you get when you multiply six by nine?"

For UK'ers, The Book Depository (my usual, reliable source for TrekLit) now has Gods of Night for sale via Amazon UK. Just ordered my copy...

I can confirm that because I went to the flagship store by MSG and they told me it's on order and that none of the Borders have them. Apparently, the site has a different warehouse then the stores which may explain why they have it before the stores.

It seems that this book is being hard to come by because Amazon is showing that it ships Oct 2.

Does Pocket have it's copies yet? Maybe we can order from them?

Just ordered mine from TheBookDepository. Will have it in a week but gonna have to read GTTS and KM first, and I can't read them until I finish the medical thriller I'm reading. So, we're looking about three weeks, give or take since I only read pbs to and from work

    Re: Destiny trilogy - review

Jeff Ayers has reviewed Star Trek Destiny, Book I: Gods of Night for TrekWeb, giving it a 10 out of 10 rating.

    The money quote par excellence:
"...the novel focuses on the characters and their preparations for the inevitable fight, elevating the story above the usual fare. Star Trek show fans will find much to enjoy. Fans of the Star Trek books should consider this a gift from the Gods. As far as the first entry in the trilogy is concerned, it lives up to the hype and is one of the best Trek novels in quite a while. Will the next books be as great? I, for one, can't wait to find out."
Also, one lucky fan on the PsiPhi Star Trek Books Discussion Board says his copy arrived from Amazon this morning, so don't delay, folks — order yours today, and pre-order books two and three, Mere Mortals and Lost Souls!
