Well as usual the BBC gave very good covergae of the games.

It's not always cold winter depends where you are in the world.

Perhaps because the season is winter, and teams might be reluctant to release players during the season for the olympics. Take Football for example the World Cup is usually played during the summer, whilst the season is during the Autumn/Winter/Spring (at least in Europe). There are already talking about moving the 2022 games to winter because of the heat in Qatar, which will play hell with the Domestic Seasons in Europe

Cost, it costs a lot to host the games the Sochi games are reoprted to have cost a whopping US$51bn, which is over double the cost of the London 2012 games.
On the continent of wild endeavour in the mountains of solace and solitude there stood the citadel of the time lords, the oldest and most mighty race in the universe looking down on the galaxies below sworn never to interfere only to watch.
