But it's funny how consoles have changed games. It's virtually impossible to play a proper FPS on a console, for example, which is why they "dumbed" the mechanics down pretty much. The difference in gameplay between Crysis and Crysis 2 was staggering.
I think as consoles become more powerful, we're going to see less and less of that, as most of it comes down to memory constraints. While consoles certainly aren't the preferable way to play FPSes, I do think that they have improved loads over time, and I think this coming gen will see less of a difference between the two.
I played Deus Ex: HR on the PS3, and that I felt it was a well-designed game given the constraints with good compromise, and I didn't for a moment miss my mouse and keyboard. That's because the limitations were well-thought out, and the controls appropriately designed.
