#6, chapter 7 of Battle of the Atom
I have no idea what I've just read. This story is rolling out its revelations at a stupidly lethargic pace.
The problem is that the story is playing its cards very close to its vest about the future X-Men, so we don't understand who they are or what their motivations are. This makes it difficult to understand what's going on, what the stakes are, or why we should care. So, what we have is a bunch of people we know fighting a bunch of other people we sort of maybe know over something we don't know at all.
I generally like Brian Wood as a writer (see Northlanders
), but this issue was a confusing and frustrating mess.
