I'm sure he did. And there he was, giving something to the fans that he didn't have
to do. He doesn't hate
the DW fans, but he had a bad experience with the producers and the BBC, and doesn't really want to get pulled back into the world. But something that was specifically honoring his time as the Doctor? Yeah, he turned out for that. But because he wanted to, not because he owed us anything.

. Not doing the BFI would have been petty.
