I think he would have been at least distracting and probably less believable.
-Shelley Duvall did fine but I'd prefer Mia Farrow.
-Alan Rickman or possibly Colin Firth as Valmont.
-Ian Holm as Moody or Slughorn (though Broadbent did fine as the latter) and John Hurt as Voldemort (though he may have been too old).
-Not a big Brad Pitt fan but he'd probably be better as Ozymandias than weak link Matthew Goode.
