^Interesting. I'd never read any of that before. It would have been strange having a series of films or even a mini-series of Trek
without Shatner and Nimoy in the mix, as this was before the days of TNG. And as Merritt Butrick passed away only a few years after TWOK and TSFS, it's strange to think about what might have happened to his character had the David-Saavik romance angle been used.
