Obviously you didn't understand what you saw in the movie, but here it comes from the horse's mouth. If you didn't bother to follow the link, why bother to post? As for arguing the issue of whether killing Zod successfully redefines Superman, take it up with Goyer. I explained why I don't think it does.
Goyer was hardly suggesting that Superman was being redefined as a "killer" in this movie. You're kinda putting words in his mouth there.
And again, how many movie heroes do you see absolutely agonizing
like that over having to kill the main villain? That says a whole lot about Superman's character right there.
