If I was 20-30 years younger, I think I probably would have been really hardcore into shows like Falling Skies, Revolution, and Defiance.
Today, after watching/reading sci-fi for decades, such current shows don't seem as impressive any longer.
Awhile ago I was watching the original Battlestar Galactica, which I really liked a lot when I was a kid. Watching it again as a middle aged adult, it looked outright cheesy. I was wondering how I was ever fascinated by such a show.
I suppose the "golden age" could be defined as whatever era when one was a kid/teenager or young adult (ie. approximately age 10 to 20), seen through the rose-tinted-glasses of nostalgia.
