Re: A response to the Nerd Rage. Spoilers

This was not a promising beginning to the thread:

You know what I am beginning to hate? Star Trek fans.
And it only went downhill from there:

Well it's actually okay... but when the haters call themselves "the real star trek fans". That's where the gloves come off.

I think alot of the hate is a smokescreen to the real issue at hand: WAHHH OUR SOCIAL CLUB ISN'T EXCLUSIVE TO US ANYMORE. GO AWAY DUMB REDNECKS WHO CAN'T UNDERSTAND MUH STAR TREK.
Yeah, they let Hitler have his opinion...look what happened.
I see little that can come from this thread except for one faction of Trek fans trying to rip another faction of Trek fans to shreds, and vice versa. There's little difference between complaining about one side calling themselves "real fans" while you classify them as "haters" whom you want to fight or hate in turn.

Everyone needs to take a giant step back and realize that while we all love different parts of the franchise for different reasons, it's still just TV series, movies, books, etc., and when you start getting into using Godwins and terms like hatred and rage, maybe you're taking it all a bit too seriously.

In the meantime, this thread is closed, because it's not about discussing any aspect of the film itself, it's just about expressing your dislike for other fans, and that can't end up going well. Plus, the OP already has a thread about the same basic subject matter, only expressed in a less hyperbolic and divisive way, so I don't see the need for another one.
