) my earlier statement. There was no such thing as a police department when the Second Amendment was written. Therefore the militia was the only method available to ensure order. That's why guns were intended to be available - to equip that militia, to keep order, to prevent chaos. It wasn't intended to CAUSE chaos, which is what so many gun nuts want.
