Went up to the Village for a double feature today.

First up, TtW, which I did not realize would be subtitled. There are four main characters, one of whom doesn't have much interaction with the others, and its a very quiet movie. The subtitles come from the inner thought voiceovers of the four characters, and since one of them is French & the other Spanish, translations are on the screen.

They also have the most to think about.

Any dialogue exchanged between the characters seems almost inconsequential.

Its a very pretty movie to see, but there's no real plot to it. Guess its just goin' for slice of life, or something...

Followed that up with the latest from Drafthouse Films, Graceland. A Philipino politician is caught up in a sex scandal, decides to blame his driver, and on the same day he fires the driver, there is a kidnappin' involvin' the driver and the daughters of the driver & the politician.

Was kinda surprised how it all turned out, in the end, and since the sex scandal involves underage girls, it got disturbed for awhile, too.

But, ya know, I'd say this and last year's Bullhead are the two best movies Drafthouse Films has distributed, so far. Pretty sure I've seen all of 'em, too, except for Four Lions, the first one.

That wraps up the "new to me" movies I've watched this month. Got a plan to head out later today to see Olympus has Fallen, which I've been puttin' off, but its the last day for me to see it for free. May see The Big Wedding while I'm there, too...or maybe Pain & Gain.
