Re: Abrams: Star Trek Maybe
or you know you try to suggest it's relative to the Holocaust
Outside of mocking the post, I'm not sure that I would ever even entertain a serious discussion trying to compare the two.
I'm not sure how anyone could...
I don't even know if that could be taken seriously. How can...I mean...the hell man? How does anyone go from "I don't like the new movies" to "Their as bad as the Holocaust!". That's just...you know what fuck it: I've met Holocaust survivors. I've seen the tatoos on their arms, sat and listen to them break down in tears as they describe the nightmarish hells they suffered.
So you know what, I'll eat the warning for this one.
Fuck you Danger ace, you offensive, ignorant twat. Whatever the else you do on this board, you have sat the gold standard for being the asshole fan that gives the rest of us a bad name.
I wish people wouldn't do that. I get being offended, but this isn't really solving anything. However...

Abrams will do a fine job with both Star Wars and Star Trek. There are actually things of some importance going on in the world to which one can devote one's concern for the future, rather than exaggerating the importance of who directs which Hollywood movie.
Well, I will agree that there will probably be a striking similarity ... er ... conformity ... consistency between the two.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.
It's just movies...

To everyone else, let's see if we can't get this back on some topic which isn't Danger Ace
, shall we?
As for literary criticism in general: I have long felt that any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel or a play or a poem is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae or a banana split. ~ Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
