Ahh. That's a shame. You've really missed out a huge
part of what makes DW so special. Humour is an integral part of its DNA. "Dark and gritty" are not synonyms I would have used to describe it, well, ever.
Certainly not in its TV incarnation.
But back on topic, my favourite Doctor remains Troughton, followed by McCoy (S25-6) and then BF McGann. But they're wonderful chaps, all of them
