I would think that Method really isn't that useful for film anyway, since you're doing bits and pieces out of sequence and those pieces are usually less than 2 minutes. Yet you hear of actors who come to set in character, and stay in character all day, even if not shooting. That's a lot of wasted energy. For a play you only have to maintain the level for about 3 or 4 hours.
Except some actors do. Daniel Day Lewis, for example, is known for never leaving "character" when making a film. He researches and submerges himself in his role for months at a time. I don't know if that's impressive or scary?
