37. The Artist (A-)
In 2011 I preferred Hugo
to this, but on revisiting them this year, I think this is in fact the better film. It's more consistent, plot-wise, in particular. Dujardin and Bejo are perfect for the roles, and really do come across like 20s film stars. Rewatching also made me recognize Freddy from Mad Men
as the cop who Uggy retrieves to save George. The whole thing is effortlessly charming.
