I'm reading a couple of different books right now. One is Moby-Dick
, which I haven't read since the first time in late high school/early college. I remember liking it then...and I'm remembering why now.
The other is called Escape Velocity: A Charles Portis Miscellany
. In fact I also have a couple of his novels on hold from the library. Charles Portis is someone I hear touted as "the greatest novelist you've never heard of". One of his books, True Grit
, has achieved a kind of subsidiary fame from having two movies made out of it. I'm looking forward to checking out his oeuvre.
