felt to me like the writers were setting up a "protagonist fights with romantic partner and partner is tempted by someone else" storyline. I hope that's not the case, precisely because you're right that it would be out of character for Lauren. But that's the vibe I got, and though I hope it doesn't turn out that way, I'm concerned by the possibility.
