Well, another reading of what I said would be that, first of all I would have thought it was necessary to avoid rear projection, and second of all I'm unaware of any production from that era that did in fact manage to always
avoid rear projection while showing characters in an open vehicle in motion. It sorta sounds like you're at least agreeing with the first part, even though I never said that anyone besides me brought up rear projection anyway.
