Ah, lens flare? Witty and fresh.
Yet deserving, especially considering JJ's doubling-down on lens-flare in recent comments. Certainly there's lots to be critical about in Star Wars as it is, considering how shabbily Lucas handled the prequels.
Lucas and JJ seem to be cut from the same cloth as far as being stubborn in doing things their own way and not listening to criticism. That's fine if you like their natural proclivities, otherwise it's highly annoying.
Good for them. Creators of artistic endeavours owe NOTHING to their "critics". NOT. A. THING. The critics are free to be unhappy with what they get, but they should not expect to be catered to. The audience has ZERO ownership of a creative product. They have the choice to like or dislike what is presented to them. They have the right to say why they like or dislike it. They have ZERO rights in terms of having their expectations met. That is entirely up to the creator.
