People really have a tough time telling TV show structure from movies. The above works great on TV when you have fifteen to eighteen hours to fill. It doesn't work when you are making a two-hour film designed to sell tickets. People go to the movies for the larger-than-life spectacle. |

straightforward action has been part of Star Trek almost from day one. Two of the most successful Trek movies are TWOK and FC, both of which are essentially action movies.
