I agree... I instantly noticed this tactic, the "zooming in and out before focusing on the subject". I thought it added a bit of realism to the obviously CGI shots. Part of what made nuBSG work for me. |
Usually not a fan of the style, but I liked it in BSG. Had the feel of it being gun-camera or drone-camera footage shot in the thick of it. Really worked with the feel they were going for with the series.
