Eccleston replaces Troughton and Cushing...

Well, sort of: he's playing Winston Smith in BBC Radio's new adaptation of 1984, a role previously played for the BBC by Peter Cushing (on TV in the 1950s) and Patrick Troughton (on radio in the 60s).
