^If they're uncomfortable you're wearing the wrong ones!
Plus: they're durable, cheap, comfy, easy to clean 'stuff' off and can take anything your washer/drier does to them without looking worse for it, in fact; the more you wash 'em the better they look.
Jeans are uncomfortable for me, no matter what the size.
Now I just buy black khaki pants from Target or Costco. Besides I can wear them to work and at leisure.
