They've officially banned the "fake to third/throw to first" pickoff move.
Apparently, "The collective bargaining agreement allowed MLB to implement the change after a one-year wait". Stupid CBA has more holes than Swiss cheese.
This has to be one of (if not THE) stupidest rule changes of all time. What, they didn't have any real
issues they needed to address this off-season?
I don't think anyone ever fell for that move, and if they did, they're dumber than a box of baseballs.
I remember it was a favorite move of Rick Sutcliffe, and it was more for giving the announcers something to laugh about than a serious strategic move.
