Finally some winners I can get behind - The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
- although I must say I'm a bit surprised by the latter winning best screenplay. It's a pretty preposterous spy/adventure movie (both parts are, of course) and the plot wasn't all that coherent. Then again, parts of it are missing today. Still, I would have expected it to win best cinematography rather than best screenplay.
