My primary viewing of Star Trek will be in 2-D. I may go see it in 3-D after a couple of viewings for the novelty of it but it could be fun too. I plan to get a new Smart TV by year's end so I may be enjoying it more. BTW, I wouldn't be *completely* surprised if a converted 3-D Version of the 2009 film was released on Blu Ray too at some point, which may be fun.
