Anyway, I watched "The Dauphin" for the first time in forever, and it was just about as dull as I remembered. Although I will say Wheaton does a pretty decent job with what he's given (Wesley is still a clueless geek, but at least he's a more likeable and less obnoxious one than in the first season).
And the planet and Holodeck effects sequence looked pretty good too.
Of course the real highlight of the episode was when THIS girl came on the screen. Hummina hummina.
Honestly, the new FX for Dauphin in the asteroid field are breathtaking. This was always on my list of top FX sequences in STNG and now even moreso.
There are still 3-4 episodes I havent watched. Must get on it!
The only thing I'm still wondering, is how
exactly this is a place Wesley had visited before. Is this some kind of tourist destination or something, where you can go stand on an asteroid and listen to the harmonic frequencies for awhile?
Even in the 24th century, and with a spacesuit, it seems like that would be a pretty dangerous thing to do.
