Now that’s a stretch. Remember that Orci later commented that he misspoke with regards to one of those characters. Clearly Cumberbatch is Harrison the extra from TOS; Orci misspoke about Alice Eve cum Carol Marcus being a new character.

Not to be too gauche, but I must recant my above argument, at least in part. I now am of the opinion that rather than Redshirt Harrison from TOS, John Harrison is in fact Johnny, the kid on the side of the road at the beginning of
Star Trek (2009). Frankly, this scenario makes much more sense than J.J. having bombed the typecasting of a
Star Trek (the original series) extra-cum-supervillain.
