Naah, there's no secret handshake or the like (might be a bit difficult unless we invent a special smilie for it). And one welcome thread is generally sufficient.
It is good style, though, to also say hi in the lounge (which is imho the best part of the board).
Posting all over the board is not necessarily something bad. It's good for your postcount and promotion
