Well Red Dwarf has plenty of humour in it. True it is a sit-com but it is also Sci-Fi. You say DW has it's humour. So on the surface of it, it appears as if British Sci-Fi hasn't fully it's humour.
On the continent of wild endeavour in the mountains of solace and solitude there stood the citadel of the time lords, the oldest and most mighty race in the universe looking down on the galaxies below sworn never to interfere only to watch.
