In an interview the writers said that the people notice she looks somewhat like her, but at the same time she looks different (short hair), so they aren't sure. It's a very dark fairy tale land. |
Plus, it's not like she was on the Nightly News back in the day. I imagine that lots of people in medieval fairylands didn't know exactly what their monarchs looked like up close . . . .
