Mixed messages is one way to interpret this, but I see in this trailer the earmarks of a movie trying to be all things to all people. I'll hold off deciding if I'm going to see this (translation: I'll hold off deciding how hard I'll try to talk my significant other out of seeing it), but I must say it doesn't look promising. I almost burst out laughing when I heard Tonto speak in stereotypical and clichéd article-free grammar, except it was too pathetic to even laugh at. I may have dozed off during American Civilization, but I didn't know that The Lone Ranger
was about railroads anyway.
