107. Brokeback Mountain (A+)
Revisted this over the weekend for the first since I initially saw it in 2005. At the time I remember quite liking it, but I didn't rate it nearly as high as many others did.
Munich was my choice for Best Picture that year. I don't know how they'd stack up now, since it's been a while since I rewatched that film too, but this has gone up in my estimation considerably (I would say it's more consistent; it lacks an equivalent to the awful sex/murder montage in
Munich). Ledger's performance, in particular, I appreciate a lot more. Williams' work is as striking now as it was then.
