Yeah, except that wasn't an issue here in the U.S. The 1998 Ralph Fiennes movie based on the British spy series was also called The Avengers
and everyone is expected to know the difference. Although, in some circles, the new 2012 movie is called Marvel's The Avengers.
Regardless, it's not the first time that two completely different movies have shared the same title. Gladiator
