As I correctly said, Janeway MUST return. It had to happen. It has happened. I am so glad I was proven right.
Well, no, it didn't have
to happen. It would have been a perfectly fine and legitimate direction to just have Janeway be dead and stay dead. Plenty of series have continued after a main character's death. The Eternal Tide
is the story Kirsten wanted to tell -- but it doesn't follow that it was a story that "must" have been told. It's just the direction she chose to go in.
