[Engineering]

Spock: Fuel temperature.

 

SCOTT: Level.

 

[Bridge]

Kirk: (gazing at Janice) No beach to walk on.

 

Rand: Sir?

 

[Engineering]

SPOCK: Raise antimatter eight and forty degrees.

 

Scotty: That'll take four minutes.

 

SPOCK: We haven't the time. We'll have to risk it. Bridge, we're ready.

 

(Bridge)

Kirk: Engage!

(Sulu engages the helm and the engines implode, rushing Enterprise away from the planet and back out into space while a piercing sound penetrates the bridge causing everyone to fade out for a few moments as the ship continues retreating away from Psi 2000. After a few minutes, the sounds fades and everything on the bridge returns to normal as Spock enters from the turbolift.)

 

Spock: Are you all right, Jim?

 

Kirk: And you?

(Spock nods)

 

MCCOY: We found a cure. We're over that part of it.

 

Spock: Obviously we were successful. The engines imploded.

 

SULU: Captain, my velocity gauge is off the scale.

 

Spock: Engine power went off the scale as well. We're now traveling faster than is possible for normal space.

 

Kirk: Check elapsed time, Mister Sulu.

 

Sulu: My chronometer's running... backwards, sir.

 

Kirk: Timewarp. We're going backwards in time. Helm, begin reversing power, slowly.

 

Sulu: Helm answering, sir. Power... reversing.

 

Spock: We're back to normal time, Captain.

 

Kirk: Engines ahead. Warp one.
