Nothing is wrong with using them as a jumping off point-- that's being inspired by them. What I'm talking about it using them as they are.

Sure. It's funny, but it's not true.

BTW, I'm curious, what type of stuff have you written?
Mostly short fiction and poetry. In terms of genres? Pretty much everything, even a bit of mainstream.
