68. Thelma & Louise (A)
The last few weeks have been heavy on Ridley Scott -- in this case, the one film of his between Blade Runner
that people really remember. The movie's reputation is well-earned, for the most part. Sarandon and Davis are excellent as the leads, both very fleshed out, and Brad Pitt's breakout part is a magnetic star turn. My two niggles with it are the stuff with the truck driver, which feels like it's from a completely different, much less interesting movie; and Harvey Keitel's cop character, whose sympathy for the protagonists kind of comes out of nowhere.
