. Remember, Kirk and Co. stood trial before the Council, with the President as judge.
As such...any tale concerning such a big, wide-ranging issue would have to be dealt with in a similar fasion. However, I did feel the need to, whenever I could, draw parallels to contemporary society--as, indeed, is one of the major tenants of Trek
in general, I feel. Thus, within the limitations of previously-established structures (which, actually, helped me out a lot in the sort of situation I really wanted, for here), I am also trying my best to draw a kind of parallel.
