Still we have a tough time casting our own work.
Particularly since I have such a clear mental image of Emerald Blair that I've built over many years, based on a variety of influences. There's no way there could be a real person who's right in every detail.
But then, I'm the one who's always saying that the whole point of an adaptation is to tell a story in fresh and different way, not to copy it slavishly. If someone did ever make a movie out of my novel, I'd need to keep in mind that it would be their
version of the concept and a lot of things would inevitably be changed.
