Yeah that interview was done last October. It'll have a PG-13 theatrical release but I wouldn't be surprised to see an "unrated" version included with the Blu-Ray. I'm not as excited as I was when Aronofsky was directing, and it continued to dip when I read about the re-write, but am still optimistic. Still curious as to if Clint Mansell will be doing the score or if he has left, since he is a frequent collaborator with Aronofsky.
I think it might end up with Marco Beltrami, who worked with James Mangold on "3:10 to Yuma" or John Powell (his "The Last Stand" score was awesome).
Personally I would go with Harry Gregson-Williams. His ORIGINS score is one of my favorite all time scores, especially "Logan through time" is a must-listen!
Sure Mangold is not Aronosky, but let's not forget the awesome, serious films he did:
- 3:10 to Yuma
- Cop Land
Yet he has proven to be able to make comedies work, too.
We will see how his take on a comic-action movie will turn out, but I am really optimistic.
